For those who don’t know Dana he is an example of the true Jasper local; accomplished in many realms, humble to his core, and respectful of history and innovation alike. As an athlete, Dana is known to excel as a cyclist, having ridden professionally in Europe, as a Nordic skier, and as a climber. In younger years, Dana could honestly claim that nobody in the Rockies was getting out in the mountains more than him, but you would never know it unless you asked, prying the information out of him…if he took a warming to you.
What makes Dana so special is that he values storytelling, friendship, family and the experience more than the accomplishment of a summit. Fitting in a bike ride on the Pyramid bench trails, or going for a walk with his boys is just as valued as any big mountain outings he may have done. But don’t be fooled, while Dana may be low key and out of the public eye, he has been to many wild spots in the Rockies, and has lots to pass on to a younger generation of climbers eager to get out and get after it
Come early for this talk and enjoy tastings from the Jasper Brewing Company as part of Jasper Beer and Spirits Week. Tastings will happen from 6 – 7 pm and only people with tickets to the talk will be allowed in. Tickets are $10.00 for the general public but only $5.00 for Historical Society members. Tickets can be purchased at the museum in advance or at the door but space will be limited to 60 people. Proof of vaccination will be required and there will be a cash bar.
