WHAT ARE THE ALBERTA BEER FESTIVALS ALL ABOUT?
Alberta Beer Festival’s Mission is to provide the ultimate beer & spirit experience! Each of our events provides a forum for breweries and distilleries to share their stories, passions, and products with the beer enthusiasts of Canada. ABF strives to have a positive impact in the beer/spirit industry, with local charities, and within our community.
WHAT CAN SOMEONE EXPECT TO FIND WHEN THEY GET THERE?
Patrons will enjoy the amazing beers, ciders, spirits, succulent food, incredible interactive entertainment, great live music, and a lot more! Play games, learn about beers, meet people… there’s never a dull moment. To experience more follow us on social media @abbeerfestivals and also check out our website Photo & Video Gallery.
WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU GET WITH THE VIP BEER GEEK TICKET?
Beer Geek VIPs get several awesome perks! VIPs get their own separate entrance, their own private VIP Lounge area, private VIP washrooms and VIPs enjoy one free admission to each seminar area* (*Subject to Capacity – Arrive Early to Guarantee a Seat).
HOW DO THE SAMPLE TOKENS WORK AT THE EVENT?
All beer and food can be sampled by first purchasing sample tokens. Sample tokens are $1 each and sold in blocks of ten at the events. Each sample is a minimum of 2 tokens but food and more expensive beers can be more. A sample of beer is legally 4oz, which is 1/3 of a bottle of beer.
You can pre-purchase sample tokens online in $20 or $40 denominations HERE
CAN PEOPLE GET DRESSED UP FOR THE FESTIVALS?
The festivals are an event for anyone who likes learning about beer, meeting new people, and having a great time. We encourage people to dress nicely but not too nicely. There is always a wide range of styles for the event, anything from tuxes, togas, kilts, lederhosen, dirndls to casual night-on-the-town attire. Dress comfortably but dress appropriately.
WHAT IF SOMEONE ISN’T THAT INTO BEER? IS THERE SOMETHING FOR THEM AT THE EVENT?
Although the event has focused on beer, we understand that not everyone appreciates this incredible beverage the way we do. In light of that, we do have spirits to sample, numerous ciders & mead, and an array of ready to drink (RTDs) – plus a wide range of interactive entertainment, live music, and delicious food from first-class restaurants and pubs.
WHAT TYPES OF BEER EDUCATION OCCURS AT ABF?
Our goal at the Alberta Beer Festivals is to increase your “Beer-Q” and help you find a new favourite beer. Brew Master seminars, hosted by brewmasters and brewery representatives, are held regularly each evening, so are Cooking with Beer seminars that pairs delicious food with beer!
WHAT DO YOU DO FOR SUSTAINABILITY?
ABF has a number of green initiatives in place to assist the community in reducing a carbon footprint. All of our paper products are printed and created on recycled, sustainably sourced materials. We give patrons a reusable collector mug, which reduces garbage intake by upwards of 95%.
All of our products are locally sourced, and our beverage containers are all recycled. We do our very best to promote local business, and help the provincial economy, by giving a portion of our proceeds back to the community with the support of over 30 charities in Alberta.
ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?
NO. The events are 18+ only (19+ in BC). Valid ID must be presented (ie, driver’s license, government issued photo ID).
IS FOOD INCLUDED IN THE TICKET?
Food is NOT included in the ticket, however there will be great restaurants and pubs onsite that will pair well with beer, your beer tokens can be used to purchase food.
