Celebrating The Beer Culture In Alberta Since 2004

At Alberta Beer Festivals, we strive to educate our fellow Albertans on all things beer related! Part of what we do is promote craft beer created in our own back yard, in addition to creating a brew culture with positive experiences for everyone. In 2004 we began as a small beer festival at the SAIT campus in Calgary, Alberta.
In 2013, we expanded North to Edmonton after solidifying great relationships with the beer community in Calgary. That same year, we introduced an Oktoberfest to Calgary, with a plan to bring an Oktoberfest to Edmonton in 2014. We now occupy a footprint of one of Calgary’s largest indoor exhibition and trade shows, and we have plans to grow even further in 2015!

Calgary Oktoberfest

Danke Calgary!

calgary-oktoberfestFrom the festival organizers, we at Alberta Beer Festivals wish to thank everyone who made the 2014 edition of Calgary Oktoberfest a HUGE success. From exhibitors to volunteers to patrons, and everyone else who took part in our festival. DANKE and THANK YOU. We will see you in 2015!

Calgary Oktoberfest is a celebration of local community and, of course, beer! We will be showcasing Oktoberfest brews from Germany and all of Calgary’s amazing craft brewers.

Throughout the night there is live music, including an authentic Oompah band, and great food! Enjoy both traditional and non-traditional fare from some of Calgary’s favourite restaurants.

We’ve got some of Calgary’s local heroes hitting the main stage for a one-of-a-kind event Calgary has never witnessed before.

Beer School with Dave Nuttall

School was never this much fun.

Beer SchoolRegister for Alberta Beer Festivals’ Beer School and learn not only how beer is made, but understand its components and taste all the major beer categories.

This four part “course” will have “classes” held over a four week period, with a “field trip” to one of Calgary’s breweries included.

Register for Calgary’s most comprehensive beer learning experience today, before all the spots fill up! If demand dictates, more sessions will be added.

Your “instructor” for Beer School is David Nuttall, who has worked in almost all aspects of the liquor industry since his university days. For the past 15 years, he has been concentrating on the wonderful world of beers, and has appeared on CBC Radio, and currently writes (mostly) about beer for Culinaire magazine. He is the current Judging Co-ordinator for Calgary International Beerfest and completed the Beer Judge Certification Program in 2012.
