Well Alberta, the votes are in and they are orange, green and lucky! In case you haven’t guessed, the winner of Stage 1 is the Irish Red Ale; named after the unique roasted barley and kilned malts that combine to give its unique hue. If you missed your chance to vote in Stage 1; don’t worry, the contest has only just begun. Stage 2 begins today and asks you to submit your best name ideas for the brew. No idea is too far-fetched so let’s get creative.
Every year we partner with Brightside and the Brew Master Program at Olds College to create a beer that is 100% based on consumer votes and input. From start to finish you have a say on design, name and taste. It doesn’t hurt that there are prizes galore to win such as judging spots, prize packs, tickets to festivals and more. Each vote you submit enters you to win so keep your eyes peeled for future updates announcing each stage.
The contest runs until March 16, 2020 meaning there is plenty of time left to cast your votes and win those killer prizes. You’ll also be able to try out this crowd sourced creation at the upcoming Edmonton Craft Beer Festival and Calgary International Beerfest so make sure you grab your tickets soon. All proceeds from the contest and beer sales will go towards supporting the incredible brew master program at Olds College.
Make sure you follow @hibrightsider and @abbeerfestivals to stay in the loop and hear about the next stages of the contest. We can’t wait to see what Alberta thinks of this year….
