Calgary, AB (September 2, 2015) Alberta Beer Festivals presents the 3rd annual Calgary Oktoberfest September 25th and 26th at the Upper Big Four Building on Stampede Park. Oktoberfest is an amazing opportunity to sample new craft beers, amazing local food, all in a fun environment.
“Prost! Calgary Oktoberfest is a celebration of food, community and craft beer! This one-of-a-kind sampling event combines the over 200 year-old German tradition with amazing Alberta craft beer and some of Calgary’s best restaurants, pubs and eateries,” says Bill Robinson, President of Alberta Beer Festivals. “This is a new take on a very old tradition, and Calgarians have embraced the idea by dressing up in their lederhosen or dirndl, coming out, singing, dancing, and having a great time in support of our charities of choice.”
What to Expect
Similar to the original Munich festival which celebrates local beer, Calgary Oktoberfest will feature local and authentic Bavarian breweries. Sample beers like no other with special casks, each holding one of eight different locally brewed beers just for this event! In addition to the amazing craft beer selection, some of Calgary’s best restaurants and pubs will showcase their delicious food at Oktoberfest! You can also listen to live authentic Bavarian music by the German Knights Band and dance the night away with Schuhplattler dancers showing you all the right moves.
