Ch-ch-ch-ch-anges! Great additions to our Mountain Festivals!

THANKS TO YOUR FEEDBACK, WE’RE CONSTANTLY MAKING CHANGES TO OUR MOUNTAIN FESTIVALS!
Not going to lie, we’re pretty proud of our beer festivals and think they are some of the best anywhere in the world! That being said, there are always things we can do to improve them, which is why we recently sent out a survey to all our loyal Beerfesters. There were two things we learned from the feedback – first, and I say this on behalf of the whole ABF team – thank you for all the wonderful things you had to say about the festivals – it was clear from your responses that you love them as much as we do! Secondly – we loved your thoughtful ideas about things we can improve. With that in mind, here are some of the ways we are improving things for our mountain festival series!
Improvement #1 – Better Signage
One of the first things we realized when reading people’s comments was that we were already doing a lot of the things they were suggesting – which quickly made us realize that in most cases, it wasn’t that we weren’t doing the things people wanted, it was that we weren’t doing enough to let people know we were doing those things. And yes, I do realize how confusing that sentence was – but rest assured, we’re going to make more signs – they’ll be colourful, pretty and everything!
Improvement #2 – A Better Shuttle Experience
Doing beer festivals in the mountains in the winter can pose its own set of unique challenges – and shuttling people to and from the incredible venues we host our experiences in would qualify. So, for each of the three mountain festivals, these are the changes we are making this year:
- Banff – The only way, other than taxi or walking, to the event this year will be via shuttles. We are building a whole new shuttle boarding area in the parking lot behind the Mount Royal Hotel. We’re adding additional shuttles, fire pits, lights, tenting and more to make sure that your trip to and from the event is a memorable experience.
- Jasper – For those not indulging in the full weekend activities, we will be increasing shuttle capacity to get people from the pick-up spot in town (Jasper Brewing) out to the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge where the evening festival sessions are held.
- Revelstoke – For those loving the gondola ride up to the festival at the mid-mountain lodge, you’ll be happy to know that we’re keeping that experience again this year – for the ride to the event. Because we’re also adding an after party at the mid-mountain lodge, we’ll be shuttling people down the hill using buses this year. The shuttles bringing people to and from town will also be in full operation again.
Improvement #3 – More of everything!
I know what you’re thinking, ‘Hey, he’s cheating! Everything is definitely more than one thing!’ – and you’re not wrong! No matter how much planning goes into our festivals, there are just some things you don’t see until the festival is underway – which means that even though you know there are things you would do differently – you have to wait a whole year before you can implement your genius ideas! Whether it is better access to water, more non-alc options, increased washroom capacity, or more space to roam, please know that the ABF team is working hard year-round to improve things at their festivals. We’re so excited about this upcoming festival season and think it is going to be the absolute best one yet!
