September 22, 2021 – Update for Calgary International Beerfest Oct 15/16 & Edmonton Craft Beer Festival Oct 22/23
Alberta Beer Festivals (ABF) is committed to providing a safe environment for our staff, volunteers, exhibitors, venue staff, customers and all attendees of our festivals. After careful consultation with Alberta Health Services, the Calgary Stampede and the Edmonton Expo Centre, we have initiated a series of health protocols through the Restriction Exemption Program that will allow us to safely host our events. ABF asks that everyone respect and follow the rules so we can host our events safely.
EVERYONE WITHIN OUR EVENTS MUST FOLLOW THE PROTOCOLS BELOW:
- Entrance Requirements – To enter the event, you must produce one of the following at the entrance to the event:
- Proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination shot received at least 14 days before the day of your event session.
NOTE – Your proof of vaccination must match your ID (which you will be required to present at the same time). We will NOT keep any personal information on file. - A negative COVID-19 test result from an approved private testing provider taken within 72 hours of the event’s scheduled start time.
- A doctor’s letter showing exemption from vaccination for health reasons.
- Proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination shot received at least 14 days before the day of your event session.
- Mask Mandate – Everyone in attendance must wear appropriate face coverings at all times. You may only remove your mask when seated or standing at a table to sample with your cohort. Before leaving the table, you must reapply your mask.
In addition to these protocols, the following will be initiated at our events:
- Seating – We will provide enough seating and standing tables so that at least 75% of attendees can sample at any one time.
- Glassware – Unlike in past years, we will be using only single use sample cups.
- Reduced Capacity – We have reduced capacity for each session to create more space.
- Increased Cleaning and Sanitizing – We have more than doubled cleaning capacity and implemented regular cleaning schedules throughout the event.
- Enforcement – Increased security will be tasked with enforcing all health protocols. Anyone refusing to comply with any of the protocols will be asked to leave the event.
Our top priority continues to be the health and safety of our guests, exhibitors, community and team, allowing us to host our events in a safe environment.
If you would like to transfer your ticket(s) to the 2022 events (Calgary in May, Edmonton in June) or if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at info@albertabeerfestivals.com
We are so grateful for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Bill Robinson
President – ABF
