March 5, 2021 – Scheduling Update for Calgary International Beerfest & Edmonton Craft Beer Festival
There is a saying that, ‘The longer you have to wait for something, the more you will appreciate it when it arrives.’ The team at Alberta Beer Festivals believes this applies to the Calgary International Beerfest and the Edmonton Craft Beer Festival.
With the recent announcement by the provincial government regarding staged re-openings and with potential easing for hosting festivals being at least 6 weeks out in Step 4 (we are currently in Step 2), ABF will be rescheduling both events.
After thorough conversations with different levels of government and specialists within the event industry, we have made this difficult decision in order to keep everyone in our #AlbertaBeerFamily safe.
Here are a few things to please keep in mind:
- Calgary International Beerfest rescheduled dates are September 10th & 11th, 2021 (we have back-up dates November 5th & 6th, 2021 should further postponement be necessary).
- Edmonton Craft Beer Festival rescheduled dates are September 17th & 18th, 2021 (we have back-up dates October 22nd & 23rd, 2021 should further postponement be necessary)
- All tickets will be transferable – so if you purchased a ticket or tokens for 2020, it will be good for 2021. There is nothing you need to do at this time and the tickets will automatically be valid. We will reach out with further information if that becomes necessary.
- Transfer your tickets to a friend – tickets and tokens are fully transferable – you don’t have to do anything – just share the PDFs with someone and make their day/week/month/year/decade…..
- Use your ticket at an alternate city (ie. You have Calgary tickets but want to switch to Edmonton event because that weekend works better or you have Edmonton tickets but want to switch to Calgary tickets because that weekend works better) – Please contact us if you wish to switch cities.
- We are not offering refunds for these events and we appreciate your understanding in this matter. We continue to work hard to support the craft beer and spirit industry that we love.
- We value each of you and thank you for your continued support. We’ve always appreciated those who supported us, but it is in difficult times you really learn how important that support is.
Thank you again for supporting ABF and we will continue to update you as more information comes available.
Sincerely,
Bill Robinson
President – ABF
